Weighty Wednesday

Wednesday is here again and it was time to step on that scale and see if it was good news or bad. Last week I didn't post nor did I have a good week ( I had gained). Hubby was getting ready to deploy and well we went out on a few too many dinner dates where I wasn't focused on points. So this week was actually a GREAT week as I lost 3.6 pounds since last week.

I need to exercise more this week and try to use my flex points on healthy things instead of finding ways to fit in my sweet things. Small steps.

Weighty Wednesday

Well no huge loos to report but 1.6lbs are gone. Considering the wonderful visitor I had on day 5 of week one I will count my blessing for every ounce of that loss. Now let's see how long the un-welcome visitor sticks around. I am hoping for a bit more of a loss next week.

I WON!!!!

It is the very first time I have ever won a bid on ebay!!!! And with stinky ol' dial-up I didn't think it was possible but with less than a minute to go I managed to get in the winning bid. My new WW at home kit with the electronic point calculator should be on its way here soon. YAY ME!!!!

Doing this WW thing with just my cook books and knowledge of the point scale has been doable but I am sure it will be much easier when I actually have reference books to turn to. *grin*

Just when things were going so well.....

Tomorrow is my day to weigh in (Weighty Wednesday). Wouldn't you know that due to things I can not control I am bloated and feeling like there is a lead weight in my gut.

I guess on the bright side next week should be that much better right? Actually I am pretty impressed that I have stuck with the program and have only used 2 flex points this week. That is pretty good for me considering what week it is.

The kids cooked dinner last night. Monday nights our kitchen becomes Chez Kinder. They made Philly Cheese Steak sandwiches, corn on the cob, and frosted cupcakes. So I kindly told them how I loved what they were making and would love to be able to eat it all but since I am trying to make healthy choices for my body that I was going to have to just eat something else. To their surprise I still had a dinner much like theirs. I had a LC Philly panini and from the spring WW 15 min. meals mag. I made the black bean and corn salad. That was a huge dinner for me coming in at 9 points but I had budgeted for them during the day. Then for dessert I had another yummy WW recipe that tasted like a slice of frozen banana cream pie (another 3 points). I still amazingly had 2 more points left for the day before I went to bed but there was no way I had any room in my belly.

We shall see how well I actually did when I weigh in tomorrow. I am trying to stay off the scale until then.

Until then......

*slowy exits room to search for Advil or Midol, crossing fingers she will find some*

Just find me spot to collapse

I woke up before the kiddos this morning and managed to dust of the workout DVD's. Then after all that hard work *grin* I actually put one in the DVD player and got in a workout. Amazing I know. I am so sore now and yet glad I fit this in this morning.

I am also posting to let you all know that I will try to post as much as I can during the week. Some weeks I may be able to post lots and some well... not so much. My plan however is to post each and every Wednesday as that is my official weigh in day. I am doing the Weight Watchers at home program. I can't go to meetings because DH will be leaving soon and well with the 4 kids (blah, blah, blah) and with this good ol' dial up system of mine I really don't want to deal with the online program. So on my own at home with their books, that is my attack plan.

Make sure to follow up with me on Wed. and be my cheering section.

Have a great day and maybe fit in some exercise so I don't feel so lonely.

Okay so I have had a few people e-mail me wondering why I have not been posting.

Well between homeschooling "farmer boy" and trying to keep up with Moe and his monkey business, there has been very little time to wait for this darn dial-up internet.

We are all doing well. The business of homeschooling is sometimes a crazy roller coaster ride. For the most part however it has been a wonderful experience and one that we are looking fwd. to doing next year as well.

I am still focused on losing those excess pounds although I have been on a platau for the past couple of months. The discovery of the Lemon Berry Slush at Sonic has been a DREADFUL discovery. How can something so yummy have so many darn calories?! The large one (who wants a small *grin*) has a whopping 500 calories. Unbelievable yet oh so true *sigh* I guess those are for those special days and only a small next time.

We have new additions that have been keeping me and the rest of the gang quite busy as well. We are now the owners of Zebu cows. (1 preggo Cow, 1 Bull, and 2 bull calves) Life has become very farm like around here. Feeding the animals is a bit more complicated than the usual 1 cup of dog chow and 1/4 cup of Friskies. Now we are filling up a tub of water and if the pasture is looking thin there is hay to be put out. It is really a blessing to be able to give the kids this experience.

Their names are Molly, Jasper, Neptune and Tonka Here is a picture of Molly. I will post more photos in the coming days.

I will try to be better about posting again too.

Have a great day!

Day One

Well January had arrived and with it a whole new approach to exercise and eating. I know I know you've all heard it before. I am not going to tell you that this is a new year and a new me, I can only say it is a new year and a tired me. Tired of being tired. Tired of being exhausted from trying to keep up with the kids. I am not really dieting (although I am watching the scale and the measuring tape closely). I am not cutting out any food groups either. I am just paying better attention to the lables on my food and being very exclusive as to what foods are allowed to party inside me. So what kinds of food did I eat on my first day of eating better? Here is my food diary from yesterday.

7:30 am Breakfast:

*Kashi Hot cereal
*1 small clementine

10:45 am Snack:

*1/2 oz walnuts
*med. banana

1:30pm Lunch:

*Herb and Garlic Light Laughing Cow wedge spread on Whole Wheat Tortilla topped with lettuce, cuccumbers, chooped green peppers, & 2 slices of tomato.
*1 small apple

4:30pm Snack:

*1/2 oz walnuts

6:15pm Dinner:

*Chicken with Garlic, Basil and Parsley
* 1 serving of green beans
* Lettuce salad with veggies
* 1 tbsp. dressing from Trader Joe's (none of the no-no's in it)

8pm Evening snack:

*1/2 cup partially thawed mixed frozen berries topped with:
*Just a bit over 1/4 cup Greek Yogurt 0%
* A dash of vanilla

Water = 72 oz
Diet Pepsi = 20 oz I had to get in my daily fix.
